The Role
The WHS, Assets and Compliance Manager role, based in Keilor Park, reports directly to the CEO and encompasses a wide range of business-critical activities. The successful candidate will need to have acquired a depth of experience that, when applied in this role, will underpin the ongoing growth of the business.
Responsibilities
- Encompassing RPM Hire’s strategic growth plans, develop and drive organisational asset, infrastructure and ICT strategy.
- Implement and manage compliance with business processes and systems (Quality, HSE, Governance, ICT, etc).
- Ongoing management of all infrastructure, facilities, vehicles, plant and hire equipment including operating software, equipment reconciliations, CAPEX suggestions and forecasts.
- Supplier management and cross-hie agreement commercial negotiation, sourcing, management (tender processes).
- Lead teams Australia wide (including in remote areas) including onboarding, training, mentoring, performance management and performance reviews, ensuring performance aligns with company Values.
- Manage, monitor and analyse inventory, assets and infrastructure to drive improvements in utilisation and efficiency.
- Develop and implement business improvement plans.
- Manage ICT services nationally, including growing the adaption of suitable technology to streamline business practices.
- Ensure equipment/vehicle register is accurate and maintenance, servicing and calibration obligations are met.
- Integrate acquired organisations (assets, infrastructure).
- Identify new products/services that could improve the performance of the business and/or the product offering.
- Perform role in alignment with financial authority and compliant with budgetary restrictions.
- Prepare carefully considered business cases to support CAPEX expenditure recommendations.
- End to end responsibility for authorised equipment/asset/ infrastructure/service procurement.
- Manage sub-contractor/supplier relationships including representing RPM Hire in dispute resolution process.
- Establish and implement WHS policies and procedures, develop and deliver related training and promote a positive safety culture across the business and suppliers/sub-contractors.
- Responsible for ensuring currency of RPM Hire Emergency Response & disaster Recovery Plan and implementing appropriate training.
- Ensure compliance with State and Federal legislation.
- Report and present safety data – identifying trends, opportunities for improvement and issues of concern (hazards).
- Manage site-based audits and participate in external audits, following up on non-conformances and ensuring rectification action is taken.
- Support the sales team by contributing to tender/proposal preparation if required by providing WHS/asset information relevant to each tender.
- Ensure incidents are reported, investigations undertaken, risks identified and mitigation action implemented.
- Oversee workers compensation claims across various state jurisdictions from submission to finalisation.
- Guide managers with respect to adjustments that might need to be made within the workplace when an employee is returning from injury.
- Liaise with internal staff and suppliers to ensure new equipment purchases (for hire or internal use) include WHS considerations as part of the selection process.
- Responsible for the QMS – set up, monitoring and compliance.
- Ensure QMS is supported by sound processes and procedures that are embedded into everyday tasks.
- Include client feedback mechanisms into QMS and ensure the QMS meets ISO 9001-2015 requirements.
- Support the wider team, however necessary, when the need arises.
- Ability to travel as necessary is a requirement of this role.
Qualification, Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a similar role in a similar industry desirable.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment with minimal supervision.
- Financial and ICT nous.
- Demonstrated commitment to quality, organised, self-motivated and self-driven.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Able to maintain confidentiality.
- Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite.
- Valid driver’s licence.
- Ability to travel as necessary is a requirement of this role.
